Preparing for NetSuite's New Release

With NetSuite’s new release right around the corner, NetSuite customers will be acclimating to system changes in the next few weeks.  Most of you know that there are steps you should take to prepare for the new release, although in reality finding the time to be proactive can be difficult. 

To make the transition a little easier, we have put together a series of resources for current NetSuite users to prepare for the upcoming new release without having to invest a large amount of time and energy in getting ready for the upgrade.  Today we are going to talk about testing your system customizations.

If you only have time to do one thing before NetSuite’s new release, we recommend testing any customizations you have within your system.  Customizations would include any changes you have made using SuiteScript or modifications you have made to your workflow. 

To test your customizations, simply log into NetSuite and look for the Release Preview Login link on your home screen.  Log in to your release preview using your current NetSuite username and password.  Once you are in the testing environment you can run through any customized processes used in your organization.  It will be helpful for you to review this SuiteScript Planning  Chart from NetSuite describing improvements and recommended actions you can take if you have used SuiteScript to customize NetSuite. 

If you run into any issues during your testing that are not resolved in the chart linked above, you should get in touch with the person who created the customization so they may perform further testing and / or modifications to the customization.
